1958 Fender Telecaster , neck plate serial number of 027170, Here’s the one every one is looking for
! Recently purchased from a large estate of a collector, and I believe has been put away for the last 15 to 20 years. The guitar did have a 1960’s Mustang pickup mounted in the neck position so a
very small amount of wood had been removed by whoever had installed the pickup. I had a correct late 50’s neck pickup so the guitar now has 100 % correct parts. The pickguard had had the
pickup hole enlarged but I have left the original pickguard on because it is after all, the original one ( correct with 5 holes ) I have yet to come to a postive determination as to whether or not the body is
refinished, we all know natural isn’t the normal finish but this is also from the time when custom finishes became available. I can’t find any indications of any body stamps but I also cannot
locate any indication of any removed or remaining stripped off finish. If it was refinished, it was a very long time ago as the body shows wear and the finish is worn off the normal place below the bridge
plate. The neck has certianly NOT been refinished, original decal, original frets and fretboard in excellent shape, pencil written neck date of 3/58, orginal Kluson tuners look like they have never been
off the guitar.Although the guitar was obviously played ( hence the wear to the body below the bridge ), the original frets show almost no wear at all ! When was the last time you came across a vintage
50’s Fender with virtually no wear to the original frets ?, Pots, switch, and caps look to be totally unmolested, neck pickup and bridge also perfect and obviously correct . Although not shown, the
guitar comes with a brand new Fender reissue poodle case. Call or email for any further details but please serious inquires only, no dreamers !.
